Daniel Gilliland
Owner & Certified Snow Professional
Daniel has been involved with the snow and ice removal industry since the early 90's, long before the official start of SnowFighters in 2004. It didn't take long before he realized that customized software could eliminate the chaos often associated with managing snow storms. Unfortunately, software available at the time was sorely lacking the features needed to manage snow and ice events effectively. From this need came the development of SnowFighters' powerful CrewTracker Software.
Daniel serves as a key contributor to SIMA (Snow and Ice Management Association), as well as a board member. He served as Chair of the CSP certification committee from 2004 to 2009, after which he served as Vice President in 2010. Daniel now serves as sitting President for the 2011 year. SIMA recognized Daniel as their Volunteer of the Year for 2008. He is featured regularly for his knowledge and successful business practices in Snow Business and Snow Magazine.

From tracking number of "pushes" to pounds of ice melt/salt material used, the need for accountability, tracking, and proper reporting is strong within the snow and ice industry. Thankfully at SnowFighters, our company's structure and software are all designed in a manner that ensures transparency with the client by providing a strong understanding of exactly what is happening on their property during a snow event.
Green Initiatives
The effects of standard ice treatment products can be disastrous to your property. We take pride in using the most environmentally-friendly materials available. Our liquid-treated, magnesium chloride-free salt plays an important role in maintaining the value of our clients' property by reducing the negative impacts that typical salt treatments have on asphalt and foliage. We're also the first in the midwest to take advantage of a powerful plowing technology called the SnowDozer B.A.T. These recycled full-rubber plows prevent damages to property commonly caused by plows such as curb cracks. As an added benefit, we are keeping thousands of pounds of rubber out of landfills each year by using equipment sourced from recycled materials. Our use of SnowDozer plows not only protects the environment, but results in more efficient and effective treatment and plowing of your property.
CrewTracker Software
SnowFighters worked closely with CrewTracker Software to integrate our many years of experience into a powerful software product for the snow and ice industry. CrewTracker Software tracks the real-time status of crews, property updates and storm management reports. Invoices can be generated immediately after each winter event. In addition, we offer customer web access – customers can know in real-time the status of their properties through our web portal. Because of our partnership with CrewTracker Software, we are constantly on the leading edge of technology in the snow and ice industry, which translates to greater efficiency and reduced costs for our clients.
